Sundays for us are about my son's footie, Sunday roasts, nagging the kids to do their homework and Sunday walks - I follow in the footsteps of a long line of family Sunday walkers. Yoga has taught me to lead a life that's outside a lot more, considering my 20s were spent in bed with hangovers, I still see this as such a gift. You may remember these days - the sleep overs! A lovely memory for me, harking back almost 10 years now when (I'm pretty sure I can say this!) I first brought Yoga Nidra meditation to Brentwood - it was not known about then. It's everywhere now, which is a great thing (if people are properly trained in how to teach it of course). I still teach Yoga Nidra every week, these days I combine it with mindfulness and transcendental meditation practises so, like my teaching, it's a blend based on my learning and my own experience. We all need space, or at least a sense of space, in our lives. My commute to work used to be on a packed tube - these days this is my Tuesday morning commute before teaching. Today's frost was particularly beautiful - after the full moon last night it was great to use moments like this to pause & take it all in. I do a lot of that these days. Never used to. This is just WRONG. More than 1 million women are feeling under pressure to leave their jobs because of their menopausal symptoms (ranging from low mood, irritability, anxiety, depressrion, hot flushes... to insomnia, weight gain & more - for up to 10 years before the menopause too).

Menopause is the reason for the SECOND BIGGEST career break for women. What's going on?! Women are being - and feeling - sidelined. I believe we need to do something to stop this so I'm joining forces with @mother_pukka who's teamed with @korukidsofficial to support women going through this change and #StopthePause. They are recruiting 5000 women to menopause friendly childcare roles.

Communication is perspective. The words I say, I understand, are based on my background, experience, my point of reference, my understanding. What you HEAR comes from your background, your understanding of my words, what you want to hear, how you want to hear it, what you don't want to hear, what mood you're in in that moment, if you are present... Truly listening is being completely present, and developing how to listen, without judgement, without an agenda of what you want to get out of the conversation, or what you're going to say next - it's good to question what you initially think someone is saying.
